The London Podiatry Centre has longstanding experience in football-related foot and lower-limb care, supporting everyone from recreational and academy players to elite professionals. Our clinical team has worked with Premier League clubs and has previously provided specialist support within international football.

Senior podiatrist Pablo Ferrer regularly works with Premier League football clubs, providing musculoskeletal assessment and specialist care for football-related foot and lower-limb conditions. His ongoing work within the professional game helps ensure that our approach reflects the practical demands placed on today’s players.

Footballers may develop problems associated with training load, previous injury, footwear, playing surfaces and underlying biomechanics. Detailed musculoskeletal assessment, computerised gait analysis and 3D motion analysis—where clinically indicated—can help identify contributing factors and inform an individual treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Conditions we frequently assess and treat include ingrown toenails, hammertoes, Morton’s neuroma, hallux rigidus, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, medial tibial stress syndrome, iliotibial band syndrome, patellofemoral problems and back pain.

The Centre also has experience working with football-boot manufacturers, including Nike, to advise on boot design and player-specific footwear selection. Boot modifications can be carried out in-house, and fully customised boots may be arranged where appropriate.

Treatment is tailored to the player and may include rehabilitation, load management, footwear guidance, boot modification and custom orthoses. More advanced or surgical options may also be considered where clinically appropriate.
