We provide expert assessment and treatment for dancers across disciplines—from ballet and contemporary to Irish dance, jazz and musical theatre. Recognising the specific technical demands of dance, our protocols focus on alignment, turnout control, pointe and demi-pointe loading, landing mechanics and fatigue management.
Every dancer receives a detailed biomechanical assessment and computerised gait analysis—with 3D motion analysis where indicated—followed by a bespoke report from Consultant Podiatric Surgeon Mr Ron McCulloch. This sets out your diagnosis, key contributing factors and a staged return-to-dance plan that fits rehearsals, classes and performance schedules.
When foot mechanics need additional support, we offer targeted rehabilitation, footwear and pointe-shoe guidance, load management and custom orthoses. Surgical options can be discussed when appropriate, but most dancers improve with focused, non-surgical care.
Common issues include posterior ankle impingement, flexor hallucis longus (FHL) tendinopathy, metatarsalgia and plantar plate irritation, Morton’s neuroma, sesamoid pain, Achilles and peroneal tendinopathy, hallux rigidus/valgus, stress reactions/fractures and recurrent nail or skin problems.
